Quick Answer
If you wear glasses on your wedding day in Dallas: 1) decide on glasses or contacts early, 2) define eyes to read through the lenses, 3) pick lashes that clear the lens, 4) keep shadow smudge-proof, 5) plan for glare in photos, 6) set the nose and brow area so frames do not move your base.

What changes when you wear glasses
Frames sit right over the eye area, so lenses can shrink or magnify your eyes, throw glare in flash photos, and rub makeup off your nose and brow bone. A bridal look for glasses is built around those three problems. For the overall plan, see our bridal makeup prep timeline.
1. Decide on glasses or contacts early
Many brides wear glasses for part of the day and contacts for the ceremony, or the reverse. Tell your artist the plan at your trial so the look is tested both ways.
2. Define the eyes so they read through the lens
Nearsighted lenses make eyes look smaller, so slightly more definition at the lash line and outer corner helps. Farsighted lenses magnify, so softer, more blended shadow keeps eyes from looking oversized.
3. Choose lashes that clear the lens
Long or dramatic lashes can brush the glass and smudge it. A natural, curled lash or a shorter strip usually photographs better. Test this with your actual frames.
4. Keep shadow and liner smudge-proof
Creamy shadows crease under lenses. Use a primer and a long-wear formula, and set the lower lid lightly so nothing transfers onto the glass.
5. Plan for glare in photos
Anti-reflective coating on your lenses helps most. Tell your photographer, and ask your artist to avoid heavy shimmer right under the frame, which doubles the glare.
6. Set the nose and brow area
Frames press on the nose bridge and brow bone, wearing makeup away there first. Set those spots with a little translucent powder and keep a small touch-up in your kit. Our ceremony-to-reception guide covers the touch-up plan.
FAQ
Should I take my glasses to my trial?
Yes, always. The trial is where the look is adjusted to your actual frames.
Does eye makeup look different through glasses?
Yes. Lenses change how large and defined eyes appear, so the look is tuned for that.
Can I wear glasses for the ceremony photos?
Absolutely, and with glare-reducing lenses they photograph well.
